Eastern Lake Erie

The Crown Jewel of Walleye and Bass Fishing

We aren’t going to give you a science lesson about the Great Lakes – but their story is fascinating, and you should take some time to learn a little bit about them (see links below).  From the perspective of an angler – Lake Erie is a rare gem.  Amazingly good fishing, plenty of access, and millions of willing fish.

Although Lake Erie is the smallest of the Great Lakes by volume, don’t let that fool you.  Because it’s relatively shallow compared to the other great lakes, it supports a robust ecosystem.  From a huge forage base to a thriving population of apex predators, Lake Erie is a healthy fishery that’s sure to captivate anglers of all types and interests.

Lake Erie is home to a wide variety of game fish.  Steelhead, lake run brown trout, musky, smallmouth bass, carp, freshwater drum, northern pike, walleyes, and lake trout all call Lake Erie home.  At Brookdog Fishing Company, our focus on Lake Erie is smallmouth bass and walleyes.  Why only those 2?  Because eastern Lake Erie, our home water surrounding Buffalo, NY, is shallow(ish), and the bottom is strewn with just the right amount of boulders, shoals, and sand to make it ideal for walleyes and bass.

Our Eastern Lake Erie fishing charters are sure to amaze even the most discerning/experienced anglers.  If catching huge smallmouth bass and walleyes in huge numbers sounds like an awesome day to you, look no further.  Give us a call to make Eastern Lake Erie your next angling destination.
